Carry a Sprite to an active Extraction Site, use its terminal to call the crate, deposit the Sprite, and stay alive until the crate leaves. The Sprite then enters your permanent collection; extracting a level-5 Sprite also marks it Mastered.
Extraction Site steps
- Find and carry a Sprite. Keep it in your inventory so you can stay armed while moving.
- Wait for Extraction Sites to activate. Current guides report that sites become active after the first circle closes; markers are visible to everyone.
- Scout the site before using the terminal. The site is a predictable contest point and calling the crate signals activity.
- Activate the terminal. Wait a few seconds for the Extraction Crate to drop.
- Deposit the Sprite quickly. Put it in the crate before the deposit window closes and protect the area until the crate leaves.
Current guide evidence says carried Sprites automatically extract when you win. Do not depend on that outcome for a rare find when a safe site or Portable Extractor is available.
When to use a Portable Extractor
A Portable Extractor lets you bank a Sprite away from a public site and is single-use. Save one for a rare special variant or a dangerous route. Sprite Mastery and some quests can award Portable Extractors; current guides also describe a daily purchase at Sprite Dust Services terminals.
Reload exception: the John Wick Sprite uses a Reload Portable Extractor because standard Extraction Sites are absent there. See the John Wick guide for that mode-specific flow.
How to get and use Sprite Dust
Extract Sprites—even duplicates—and claim eligible Sprite Mastery milestones.
Use Sprite Dust Services for available perks, upgrades, utilities, and extractors.
Re-summon a collected Sprite after losing the carried copy in a later match.

Extraction FAQ
How do you extract Sprites in Fortnite?
Use an active Extraction Site terminal, wait for the crate, deposit the Sprite, and survive until the crate leaves. A Portable Extractor or a Victory Royale can also bank a carried Sprite.
How do you collect Sprite Dust?
Extract Sprites, including ones already in your collection, and claim Dust from eligible Mastery milestones.
Do you permanently lose a Sprite when you die?
If you had already extracted it into your collection, no. You lose the carried copy and can re-summon the collected entry with Sprite Dust.
